Dharamshala Cricket Stadium


In the heart of the glorious district of Kangra, there exists a beautiful town by the name Dharamshala. There is a strange charm in this place that keeps attracting tourists from all over India and other foreign countries.

Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple


Located in the Kangra District, Kaleshwar Mahadev Mandir is about 8 km from Pragpur. It is popularly known as Kalesar. The house of Lord Shiva, Kaleshwar Temple Himachal is one of the oldest sites located in the Himalayan ranges.

The caretakers of the temple believe that the water in the Vyas River keeps growing till it reaches the Shivalingam and once the water touches the Jalahri of the Shiva Lingam, water starts subsiding.

The 400 year old construction of the Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple is said to be started by the Pandavas who visited this sacred place during their exile and continued by the Katoch Dynasty.

Maharana Pratap Sagar Dam


The dam built in the year 1960 on the Beas River is the origin of huge Maharana Pratap Sagar Lake. It is a man-made reservoir situated in the district of Kangra.

The water sports center in the Maharana Pratap Sagar sanctuary makes it a great spot for fishing, adventure, and picnics. The dam houses varied flora and fauna. To feel the adrenaline rush, there’s no other better place than the Maharana Pratap Sagar Lake.

The Maharana Pratap Dam is now home to various species of animals, fishes and birds. Settled in the Sylvan backdrops of Kangra Valley, Maharana Pratap Sagar photos speak the raw beauty that the site offers.

Jwalamukhi Temple


One of the famous Shakti Peethas, Jwalamukhi Temple is located 35 km on southern side of the Kangra Valley. Overseeing the Dhauladhar mountain range, this Jwala Mata Mandir is set amid the rolling hills and does not house any statue of God.

Jwala Devi, symbolising the God of Light, is worshiped in the Jwalamukhi Temple situated in the Himachal Township Jwalamukhi. Jwalaji is also called the ‘She of the Flaming Mouth’ or the ‘Flaming Goddess’. As per the Hindu mythological tales, Sati’s tongue fell off in this place while Lord Vishnu was cutting through the carcass of Sati. It is said that even the Pandavas visited this sacred site.

The power of Jwalaji is said to be highly acknowledged. It is assumed that Kangra’s Raja Bhumi Chand Katoch dreamt of this holy place who was an ardent devotee of Goddess Durga.

Masroor Temple


Located in the stunning sub-Himalayan territories, Masroor Rock Temple mesmerises the tourists with its magnificence and grandeur of the idols and intricate carvings.

The monolithic Masroor Temple in Himachal Pradesh is the beautiful piece of art ever since the Pandavas period. Located at a height of 2535 ft. above the sea level and at a distance of 40 km from the Kangra Township, Masroor Temple is one of the greatest uncharted destinations.

Triund

Dada Siba Temple


The state of Dada Siba was ruled by Raja Ram Singh who was an ardent follower of Krishna, including his subjects. Mathura and Vrindavan pilgrimage was mandatory for these set of followers every year.

The swayamvara of Sita, killing of Rakshas by Lakshmana and Rama, Rama’s coronation paintings in the temple clearly reveals that these legends are quite popular in the region.

It took 18 years to complete the construction of the Dada Siba Temple, Himachal Pradesh, which is said to be built in red sandstone and marble. They were imported from Agra and Jaipur respectively. Devi Chand and Suba Ram are said to be the two painters who executed the murals.

Chintpurni Temple


At an altitude of 940 meters, Chintpurni Mata village falls under the Una District in Himachal Pradesh. Mata Chintpurni Temple lies in one of the highest peaks of the Solan Singhi Range.

It is believed that a Kalia Saraswat Brahman named Pundit Mai Das; a dedicated devotee of Goddess Durga dreamt and received orders from Chinnamastika Devi under a Vat Tree that Mata Chintpurni would appear in form of a pindi (a round stone), which must be worshiped regularly.

He was little apprehensive with dense forest, wild animals, and no source of water around but his uneasiness was put to rest in minutes when Chintpurni Mata manifested and pointed towards the northern hill direction on the slope and asked to dig out a stone to find fresh water.
